Andres F. Montero

Andres Montero’s academic journey began in Colombia, South America, where he graduated with a Jurisprudence degree from the prestigious Rosary University (Universidad del Rosario) in Bogotá. After emigrating to South Florida, he worked as a mortgage loan officer for a large regional bank.

Driven by his passion for law, Mr. Montero attended St. Thomas University School of Law, earning a Juris Doctor degree and obtaining a license to practice law in Florida. During law school, he served as president of the St. Thomas More Catholic Law Student Society and actively participated in service projects benefiting the underserved and homeless populations of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. He also served during two summers at Legal Aid of Broward, helping underserved seniors.

Following his legal education, Mr. Montero began his legal career in civil litigation at a top national collections firm. His practice focused on high-volume plaintiff lawsuits, where he honed his courtroom skills and conducted numerous negotiations on behalf of his clients throughout Florida.

Mr. Montero is currently a member of the Florida Bar Small Claims Committee and the Broward County Bar Association. In 2024, he shifted his focus to advocating for individuals and families affected by asbestos-containing products. This marked a significant turning point in his career, as he began representing plaintiffs instead of large corporations, demonstrating his dedication to seeking justice for those wrongfully injured, particularly victims of asbestos exposure.

An avid sailor and surfer, Mr. Montero specializes in wing foiling, chasing the wind and waves on his hydrofoil surfboard with a wing sail. He is often seen at Lake Michigan when it is windy.
